Phoenix Marketcity Chennai presents a scintillating live performance by Thadheem, an independent Chennai based Carnatic progessive rock band. The current line up consists of Surya (Lead Vocal), Keerthi (Lead Vocal), Purnima (Lead Vocal), Nagarajan (Mridangam), Durai Srinivasan (Violin), Mohanraj (Flute), Vigneswar (Keyboard), Saravanan (Drums), Allen (Bass Guitar). All the band members are from South India. Surya and Nagarajan started off with short jamming sessions in their free time which eventually led to the formation of the band. Thadheem’s musical genre is Carnatic Progressive rock. Their music is a blend of Rock and Carnatic Music. Thadheem draws inspiration from Traditional carnatic music and progressive rock acts. The band borrows its name from the Traditional Jathi word ‘Thadheem’.
